Semen Gresik Successfully Campaigns for Zero Gratification during the 1423 AH Eid al-Fitr Celebration

Rembang, May 25, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) successfully campaigned for zero gratification during the 1423 AH Eid al-Fitr celebration and disseminated it to the Company personnel and external stakeholders, including the shareholders, consumers, suppliers, institutions, and the community around the Company's site. The success was indicated by no act of corruption or bribery case had occurred in the Company's environment (zero cases) and the transparency of the Company personnel to report any acceptance of gifts considered gratification from the external parties to the Company's Gratification Control and Anti-Bribery Team (TPGAP) following the applicable provisions.

The Head of the Legal and GRC Unit of PTSG, Ahmad Jibril, explained that the main purpose of the zero gratification campaign was to support the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG), ISO 37001:2016 on the Anti-Bribery Management System, which had been enforced by the Company, and "Semen Gresik Bersih" program (a program to prevent gratification and bribery practices).

The implementation basis, Jibril added, referred to the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) Regulations Number 2 of 2019 concerning Gratification Reporting and the Regulation of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Number PER-09/MBU/2012 concerning the Amendment to the Regulation of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Number Per-01/MBU/2011 concerning the GCG Implementation in the State-Owned Enterprises.

"The zero gratification campaign shows our commitment to implementing GCG as our corporate management culture that upholds the principles of transparency and accountability. Besides, we try to strengthen the corporate value and stakeholder trust," said Jibril in the press release on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Jibril continued that the zero gratification campaign was regularly conducted in the Company outside the Eid al-Fitr holiday or other religious holidays.

But despite that, he emphasized, this campaign was conducted more intensively during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, considering that the tradition of Indonesian people is to send gifts or parcels to each other. He called for all Company personnel and external stakeholders to not give and/or receive gifts identified as gratification that might result in conflicts of interests in the decisions making conducted by the Company.

The zero gratification campaign was disseminated through warning e-mail and the Direction Circular Letters, Goricotoon trivia, running texts, or flyers posted on the big screens in the factory building areas, social media, Company's website, and other mass media. They also disseminated the Code of Ethics through massive webinars or e-learning.

PTSG's compliance with the company management regulation, Jibril claimed, led the Company to a great number of achievements, namely The Best GRC for Corporate Governance & Compliance 2021, The Best CEO, and The Best Corporate Secretary in the event called 2021 GRC & Performance Excellence Award.

At the end of 2021, moreover, the Company conducted GCG Assessment and gained a score of 92.692 or "Very Good", showing an increase from the previous score of 87.56.
